Mariners

Mariners stands majestically overlooking the ocean at Housel Bay, on the Lizard Peninsula. As a new-build, we were asked to furnish the house from top to bottom. The owners wanted to create a light, clean and relaxing space that would make the most of the phenomenal views. We chose a calm, coastal colour palette that would sit comfortably with, rather than fighting against, the dramatic cliff and coastal vistas beyond. The contemporary lines of this modern dwelling were used as a blank canvas to create a home that would be effortless to live and relax in. The high ceilings were treated to statement pendant lamps, while the walls were hung with local artwork.

The design style here was very much one of understatement, but without being generic. Mariners draws much of its identity from the views and so it was important not to detract from these. We chose a fluidity of form for the furniture; organic lines that invited nature in. Suppliers used to achieve the look included Ethnicraft, Love Your Home and Andrew Martin, whose pieces combine style and functionality making them a perfect fit.
