Hayle Bay, New Polzeath

We were engaged at the very beginning of this new-build project, allowing us to work closely with the architect over a period of 18 months from start to finish. Intended as a future family home, but currently a luxury rental with Latitude 50, it was important that we achieved the client’s vision of creating a relaxed, beach-side coastal vibe. As the client lived out-of-county we were able to keep the lines of communication open virtually using Zoom calls and a bespoke portal that the client to access to view mood boards, 3D visuals and samples. The property location is elevated, with views out to Pentire Point and over the Atlantic towards Steeper Point and Padstow. Within walking distance of the beach, colours were chosen to reflect the surroundings which were neutral in the main, but accented with deep blues and turquoise.

The material selection was deliberately raw and organic and we used a number of reclaimed pieces create a feel of laid-back, lived-in luxury. The mixture of antiques and reclaimed pieces were sourced from Home Barn, with a Love Your Home sofa chosen for the combination for of classic details and contemporary design. We worked with Duchy Designs to create the minimalist yet highly functional kitchen with intricate bathroom titling from North Coast Tile Company, The entire property was intricately designed to the smallest detail for the owner and her family; down to the acoustic fluting the cinema room walls and the panelling in the bedrooms, although use to create a beach hut vibe.
